WelcomeWelcome : All my own work : Meetings : Courses : Miscellany : Links Welcome to the North Cheshire Lacemakers websiteNorth Cheshire Lacemakers Group meets at Helsby Community Centre, Helsby, Cheshire, from 10.30 am to 4.00 pm on the 2nd Saturday in January, March, May, July, September and November when we usually welcome a speaker and a lace supplier. In February, April, June, October and December we meet from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm on the 2nd Friday. Friday meetings are usually spent making lace and chatting. There is no meeting in August but a trip may be arranged. Annual subscription is £10.00 for Lace Guild members and £12.00 for non-Guild members. Young lacemakers, under the age of 21, enjoy free membership. In addition, there is a small admission charge to cover light refreshments in the mid-morning, at lunchtime and in the afternoon. Most members bring a packed lunch but it is possible to buy food close by the Community Centre. We have an extensive library and books are loaned out for 2 months, but can be renewed by telephoning the librarian. Our thrice yearly newsletter, Pillow Talk, is published in March, July and November and contains a diary of events, information about courses organised by the group, items of news and patterns. North Cheshire Lacemakers Group promotes the making of lace and encourages the pursuit of knowledge in the art of lacemaking, through classes, courses and exhibitions.
